The Academy for Learning Islam (ALI)


وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنفِرُواْ كَآفَّةً فَلَوْلاَ نَفَرَ مِن كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ طَآئِفَةٌ لِّيَتَفَقَّهُواْ فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنذِرُواْ قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُواْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ
 

And the believers should not go all out to fight; let a party from every expedition remain behind that they could devote themselves to learning of the religion (Islam), and that they warn their people upon their return, so that the people may be aware (of their Islamic duty)

(Sűrah Tawbah,  Âyat: 122)

The Academy for Learning Islam (ALI) is a non-profit organization to advance and teach the religious tenets, history and practices of Islam, according to the Shi’â Ithnâ 'Asharî school of thought. It maintains a religious school of instruction for children, youths and adults. ALI also provides counseling services and Islamic outreach programs to people experiencing religious and social problems.

The aims and objectives of ALI are:

To advance and teach the religious tenets, doctrines, observances and culture associated with the Islamic faith, according to the Shi’â Ithnâ `Asharî school of thought;

To establish and maintain a religious school of instruction for children, youth and adults;

bullet

To provide counseling services and maintain outreach programs, according to the Islamic faith, to persons experiencing religious and social problems

Short Islamic Courses on the Qur’ân, its language and other Islamic sciences

The Islamic Research Center

bullet

Islamic Counseling, including marriage and family matters

bullet

Speaking at Islamic Centers, Schools, Churches, and Synagogues

Outreach Programs at Public Libraries and schools

bullet

Distribution of select literature

bullet

Qur’ân Tilawah Program

bullet

Summer Intensive Programs and courses
